Every new year there’s a flurry of blog posts enumerating the best or worse of last year or profethising what the new year will bring. Most of them are dull and wrong. One of them, however, may make you stop and take noice. Rory’s article about how eBusiness has to mature as a practice is one of them.
I have written about eBusiness maturity in 2011 myself. From the point of view of the client, I discuss what I’d like to see corporations do to embrace our practice and make sure they remain relevant in a world where online is the way to do business. The end result for me is to recognise eBusiness as a core competency of the organization.
Mr Yate’s post goes through 5 practical steps we can take to make sure we set off on that journey. I can certainly recommend reading his post and asking yourself 3 questions:
- How do we rate against each of the 5 steps?
- How far is that from the ideal rating?
- What plans do we have to get to that ideal rating?
eBusiness maturity is the subject of the year. I’m excited to be doing my part, and will certainly keep Rory’s post in mind as I work.
