I am Roberto Hortal, a Product leader and agent of change. I lead organisations in transformational journeys to make Empowered Product Teams a part of their DNA. Benefitting from years of experience bringing the science and art of Product Management to UK and international businesses of all sizes, I help companies set up their teams, processes, people, culture and structure to become places where great product work can happen.
Roberto Hortal’s career highlights
I am Chief Product and Technology Officer at Wall Street English, as well as advisor to a selected network of startups and nonprofits, University lecturer and Product Coach.
Previously, I was Head of Product, Chargers and App Software at Wallbox, bringing the tools and methods of Modern Software Product Management to the business. Prior roles include Head of Innovation at RM Results’ RM Studio, where I built innovative technology products for Education; Director of Membership Products and Services at the Coop Group, reimagining cooperation for the 21st century; Head of Connected Home at EDF Energy‘s Blue Lab, the Open Innovation Incubator and Startup Accelerator, a position I took in 2016 after 5 years as Head of Digital at EDF Energy, delivering a program of Digital Transformation that was central to EDF Energy’s winning the Marketing Society’s Grand Prix in 2015.
I joined EDF Energy from RSA insurance group, which I joined as Head of Digital for MORE TH>N before moving to the Central and Eastern Europe business as Digital Director to take the direct insurance business model to the rest of Europe.
Before RSA, I ran Digital at easyJet, where I introduced many innovations such as Speedy Boarding, Dynamic Packaging of ancillary products, a Holidays website, and managed the Digital launch of new routes, countries, languages and payment methods.
I started my career at Nokia, where I developed a global Digital capability over 10 years.
